How to Clean Brick Walls
Written by Ray Munn LtdWhen faced with walls that have been heavily affected by the greasy stains of industrial pollution, there are many ways you can clean them.
You can use a brush to scrub the wall using ordinary detergent or soap solution or trisodium phosphate or muriatic acid. These however bear the risk of corroding the wall, especially if not diluted properly. Guard Industrie’s tailor made cleanser for brick and other building materials offers you the option of ridding your walls of stains and the effects of pollution without defacing them. Not only do they remove stains, they also protect brick surfaces from further damage and staining.
Another plus with Guard Industrie’s Decap’ Bricks Guard is that it leaves all other surfaces around the bricks unaffected. This means that window frames, window panes and shutters that the cleanser may accidentally land on will remain unaltered. With other corrosive products in the market today this is not the case. Its application is also easy as Decap’ Bricks Guard is a viscous liquid, easily applied to the surface with a brush or roller. After application, it should be given the appropriate amount of time to deal with the stains; this could be between one and several hours depending on the extent of the staining, for it to function optimally. Rinsing should be done thoroughly with a high pressure cleaner thereafter.
Other than brick walls, Decap’ Bricks Guard is effective in protecting terracotta finishes, tiled roofs and the cleansing of any facades. Environmentalists will approve of Decap’ as it is made of molecules that are biodegradable, making it risk-free for the environment. It is caustic soda-free and potash-free and water-based which makes it safe and non-corrosive for the user, the wall and the environment.
